Joanne Rowling is een Britse schrijfster, bekend van de Harry Potter-boekenserie. Voordat haar eerste boek uitkwam, leidde ze een veelbewogen leven. Het eerste Harry Potter-boek was haar redding. De Harry Potter-serie bestaat uit Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (1997), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (1998), Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (1999), Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2000), Harry Potter ande the Order of the Phoenix (2003), Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2005) en Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows (2007). Andere boeken van J.K. Rowling zijn Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2001) en de Cormoran Strike-serie (2012-2022) (onder het pseudoniem Robert Galbraith).
